ReiBaltic (born 1984) studied at the Tartu Art College but is primarily self-taught. He has worked extensively as a designer, animator, and Art Director in various advertising agencies, including four years in London. Alongside his professional work, about 10 years ago, he developed a strong interest in plywood as a material, CNC milling, and high-gloss epoxy lacquer. Combining these with ideas, approaches, and inspiration from advertising agencies, an art project called ReiBaltic was born, which has now evolved into a full-time artistic endeavor.

“I value humor, contradiction, and a little bit of crossing the line — though in moderation — both in life and in art. As a famous saying goes, ‘It’s better to go too far than not far enough.’ I enjoy making the audience feel slightly uncomfortable and inducing awkwardness. I want to force the viewer to think about random moments in life and everyday situations from a different perspective. Above all, I try to show that life shouldn’t be taken too seriously, and that there is always something in every situation that can entertain and lift the spirits. My style is as minimalist, clean, simple, and naive as possible, yet it seeks to draw attention to more serious topics in life. My art project can be described in one sentence — ‘An art project for grown-ups, from a grown-up who has refused to grow up.'”
